Jeudi 25 Juin :

We have youth that are struggling. We can use the money for gas, in transporting them to behavorial health appointments. So many are at risk. Normally at this time of year we have youth working and preparing themselves for the school year but our youth program is closed which leaves many youth out their struggling and they turn to self harm . We are trying to put those at risk to work a few hours a day so they can have a little something. So we can use the money.
wopila tanka.

Hi Phil,
I'm assuming that you donated the $800.00 directly to The Bear House, as I don't see it here coming thru One Spirit. We appreciate your support to this amazing project. It is, however, not a part of One Spirit and therefore I'm sure they wlll thank you on their own.

Dear Phil and Friends at Pine Ridge Enfance Solidarite,
Thank you so much for your generous donation this month of $1,090.00. Jeri will notify Ms. Tiny DeCory regarding the $700 for the Bear House, and we thank your donors for the SIX FOOD BOXES totaling $390.00.
Inevitably, the COVID-19 virus has invaded the Reservation. A full lockdown is in place; residents are not able to travel beyond their districts and road blocks are set up. That leaves only one small convenience store per district that is available for use. We have temporarily changed our programs in able to participate in a full scale relief effort. We have partnered with the Tribe, Emergency Services, Feeding South Dakota, and the district CAP offices. Together we are able to move more food and essential items than we ever thought possible.
For the time being, we are not able to follow our usual home delivery program. We are delivering to each district at an announced facility. Deliveries and pickups are still being worked out. All sponsored families can get their boxes; if not possible, they can arrange with a neighbor to pick up for them. No one will be denied a food box. We will keep you updated as we go along.
We understand a sponsor's dedication to their sponsees; if our approach at this time does not meet one's expectation, we are offering refunds to sponsors.
Thank you for your understanding during this extraordinary time.
Gratefully,
Lori MaRose Jackson - Donor Services for ONE Spirit

Dear Pine Ridge Enfance Solidarité,
On behalf of the children served by the Lakota Waldorf School, "Pilamaya" (thank you) for your special gift and continued support of our life-changing learning environment.
Please know that your gift is supporting the only Waldorf school in North America that is located on the land of a Native American reservation - the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Also, your gift is helping us to integrate the Lakota language and culture with Waldorf educational methods - a unique learning environment that is strengthening the cultural identity and heritage of Lakota children while they also work to create a positive future for themselves, their communities, and beyond. Thank you for your special gift. But thank you even more for trusting us with your continued support. Because of the individuals like you, our school is standing as a shining example of a life-changing learning environment that helps indigenous children maintain their cultural identity while also being prepared for the growing complexity of the 21st century. With warm appreciation,
Katie Hunter - LWS Donor Relations Associate

Dimanche 26 Avril :
We had another suicide she was 18. Yesterday we buried the 17 year old.
They lifted the lockdown at 5 am this morning but keeping the borders patrols in place.
You stay safe my friend.

Dear Philippe and Friends at Pine Ridge Enfance Solidarité,
Thank you for your donation of $1390.00 and for your support to needy Oglala Lakota families on the Pine Ridge Reservation during this extraordinary time. Your gifts will be parceled out as per your request.
Our primary concern during this time of crisis is to get as much food as we can to families. With school closed, children will miss getting hot meals. The Allen Youth Center is giving out brown bag lunches for children who usually attend the Center and partnering with community area schools to cook and deliver hot meals in the Allen Community.
Due to the swift actions of Oglala Sioux Tribe President in issuing early travel bans, and closing the borders of the Reservation, we are hoping that this lethal virus is contained outside Pine Ridge Borders. Travel outside is restricted to essentials only. Our mission is to provide as much food to as many districts as possible. Residents are still shopping for essentials outside the borders as prices are lower. We so thank you for your assistance for us to attain our mission.
